Business and Entrepreneurship Scholarships in New Zealand
Business & Entrepreneurship Scholarship
For students who intend to build something — a venture, an organisation, or a career in management and economics.
The Business & Entrepreneurship Scholarship supports students across the Academy’s Business & Administration, Management and Economics programmes, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The panel looks for commercial judgement as much as grades. A venture that failed, honestly analysed, often reads more strongly than one that was never attempted.
What this scholarship covers
Areas of study supported under the Business & Entrepreneurship award
Business & Administration
Core commercial study, from accounting and finance through to operations.
Management
Organisational leadership, strategy and human resource management.
Economics
Micro and macroeconomics, policy analysis and quantitative economics.
Venture and start-up
Applicants with a trading business or a developed venture concept are expressly encouraged.
Who can apply
- Enrolment, or an offer of place, in a Business, Management or Economics programme
- Academic results meeting the entry requirements for your programme
- Evidence of commercial initiative — a venture, a role held, a project run, or a competition entered
- A one-page plan or reflection on the venture or career you are working towards
If you already run something
Applicants with a trading business should include basic figures — revenue, customers, months operating — rather than projections. The panel assesses evidence, not ambition, and a small business with real customers carries more weight than a large forecast.
