Arts & Creative Industries Scholarship

For students whose work belongs in a portfolio as much as a transcript — visual arts, design, performance and media.

The Arts & Creative Industries Scholarship recognises that creative ability is not always visible in a grade average. Assessment weighs your portfolio alongside your academic record.

The Academy’s Art & Design programme spans studio practice, design, and media production at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and this scholarship is open across all of them.

What this scholarship covers

Painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and mixed media.

Design

Graphic, digital, product and spatial design, including design research.

Performing arts

Theatre, music and performance, individually or as ensemble practice.

Media and screen

Film, animation, sound and digital media production.

Who can apply

  • Enrolment, or an offer of place, in an Art & Design programme at the Academy
  • A portfolio of recent work — up to fifteen pieces, or a showreel of up to ten minutes
  • A statement of creative intent describing the direction of your practice
  • Academic results meeting the entry requirements for your programme

What to put in your portfolio

Assessors would rather see six resolved works than fifteen unfinished ones. Include process material — sketchbooks, iterations, rejected directions — because the panel is assessing how you think, not only what you produce. Label each piece with its year, medium and dimensions or duration.
